About The Author
My name is Randy Franklin. I write as R.D. Franklin, and before I ever wrote anything, I built things. I spent most of my working career as remodel contractor, and in the trades I learned two things that shaped every page I’ve written… you can’t fake a foundation, and the finished work is the only honest measure of the man and the plan.
I’m not a pastor. I’m not a theologian. I have no seminary degree and no letters after my name. I feel it important to tell you this because after all the great sermons and logical exegesis, you may still find there is something missing. That was me. And I want to be for you what I didn’t have… someone who was stuck like I was and found their way to freedom.
That was me for a very long time. Stuck. Stuck in the same anxiety, the same patterns, the same traps, the same self-criticism, the same longing. Longing to truly know, and be known, by God. The distance I felt was real and nobody could explain it to me or advise anything I hadn’t already tried… and failed in.
So, I did what a builder does with a problem nobody else seems to have a fix for… I refused to stop working until I found it. That refusal took twenty years. What I found in those years… about the noise in us, about the natural man who runs our lives and calls itself us, about what Jesus meant by deny himself daily… became The Noise Within.
I didn’t study this into existence. I lived it… the ache, the surrender, and the stillness on the other side. That’s the only authority I claim: the authority of a man who walked the road, took notes… lots of notes… and came back for the ones still on it. I have a heart for YOU.
